Program Overview

Peter Meinke has published 17 books of poems and short stories including "Liquid Paper: New and Collected Poems", "Zinc Fingers", and "Scar".   In 1986 his collection of short stories, “The Piano Tuner”, won the Flannery O’Conner Award for Short Fiction.  He was also awarded a PEN Syndicated Fiction Award for “The Starlings of Leicester Square in addition to two NEA Fellowships and three prizes from the Poetry Society of America.

Peter Meinke is an Emeritus Professor at Eckerd College and lives with his wife, artist Jeanne Clark, in St. Petersburg.
