The Studio@620 salutes Black History Month with a special presentation of "My Black Experiences: Building Bridges Toward World Harmony", a monologue written by Susan Patricia Golden, MA, CPC, directed by Bob Devin Jones, and performed by Lisa Powers Tricomi.
The monologue is a reflection of the writers experiences growing up and being exposed to prejudice. After the reading, there will be a moderated panel discussion. The author's aim is to "invite people of all races to continuously put ourselves in 'the others" shoes and try the behaviors on from their perspectives and start a dialogue to get to know people and build bridges toward world harmony."
About the Author:
Susan Patricia Golden, MA, CPC questioned Racism even without the words from about age 3. As a therapist for 2 decades, She felt honored to witness the pain and healing journey's that her clients shared with her. After discovering how important our Creative Expression is to our well-being, Susan founded www.UniversalMusicDay.org which celebrates the 12 Annual event on 13 OCT 2018 and her new Podcast: LightLoveProsperity.com to be released this April.
About the Actor:
Lisa Powers Tricomi is a drama therapist, educator, and theatre professional, with over 25 years of experience. Combining her extensive background in theatre
performance, production, and direction, along with expertise in the field of drama therapy, she offers a unique form of engagement with group participants,
performers and audience.
About the Director:
Bob a native of Los Angeles has resided in St. Petersburg since 1997. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, he has been a Theatre Worker for over
thirty-five years, working as an Actor, Playwright, and Director. He founded The Studio@620 with Dave Ellis in 2004 and serves as the Artistic Director.
He mentors young directors, writers and visual artists in his spare time.
